It Only Took Me 17 Years to Pull This Off

personal

I decided to create a blog back in 2006. I discovered the domain JeremyJernigan.com was already taken by an earlier adopter with my same name. Which was quite a bummer for an aspiring blogger. Even worse, the domain was taken by someone hosting less content than a MySpace page.

I tried at that time—and for years afterward—to buy the domain. I reached out to the owner multiple times, I hired a third party to try and negotiate for it... all to no avail. I figured out which month the site would be up for renewal each year and I would check back yearly to see if the domain was renewed. Each time it added one more year.

This forced me to come up with a creative name for my blog and I landed on TomorrowsReflection.com. I liked the perspective of realizing we would someday look back on tomorrow (God willing). The name worked, but it was a bit tricky to spell, often for me.

I posted my first blog on March 22, 2006. A lot has happened since then. To be transparent, I barely recognize that version of myself. Recently, I decided it was time for me to overhaul my blog and on a whim decided to check on my ever-elusive white whale. And to my extreme delight, the other guy named me allowed it to expire.

So welcome to the brand new JeremyJernigan.com website! All of my content will now be posted here moving forward.

As you might have noticed, I have completely rebuilt this from the ground up using different software than I used before. This new platform will allow me to better create and share content in the future directly with you in all sorts of new ways.

I recently invested in some nice recording gear to use on our Forest and Trees podcast and now I'm going to start putting that to work for me in more ways. Since I'm not teaching from a pulpit each weekend, I'm committing to new ways of putting out more video content. And this new format will allow me to do that exponentially. As with this post, I will try and add a video for most of the blogs I write moving forward.

For those of you on my email list, you will notice the emails coming from a new location and provider. If you were previously signed up, I have automatically moved you over. If you haven't yet signed up, consider this my formal invitation to join the party!

I am beyond excited to try new things in 2023 and I believe this will be a year when I figure out new ways to connect with you guys and hopefully provide encouragement. The world is nuts right but there is an ever-growing need for people who can navigate it with hope and discernment. So let's give it a shot.
